New York/London, Worldwide 06/04/09; Forward thinking mobile marketing company, Proximity Blue has been anounced as one of official category sponsors of the UMA Living Legend award category at the the prestigous Urban Music Awards USA taking place on the 17th of July 2009 in New York City.

Music fans from around the world are to get their chance to nominate and vote for which artists they feel deserve recognition. A record 1.350,000 members of the public have already nominated via www.urbanmusicawards.net . These nominations will be whittled down to shortlists of 5 to 7 in each category and the Official UMA 2009 nominees will be announced in April. The public will then be able to vote, again free of charge, to choose the winner in each category.

UMA’s very own Lilly Allen’s collaboration with Common on ‘Driving me wild’ saw the US hiphop maestro win over millions of new fans in the European and Asian territories. Most recently past UMA winners Akon and Sway have gone into the studio to come out with a sure fire hit ‘Silver & Gold’ and who can forget Mark Ronson’s collaboration with Ghostface, Trife & Nate Dogg with the single ‘Ooh Wee’ or Adam F feat Redman with the classic hit ‘Smash Sumthin’.
